XT pages are real photo paper pages, each laminated onto a sturdy 600 g/m² cardboard backing, giving every spread a distinctly thick, substantial feel at approximately 1.08 mm per page Printed on genuine FUJIFILM Crystal Archive HD Album photo paper, they bring the same print quality found across all Saal Digital Photo Books, now with added weight and presence in every page you turn.
Available in two lines: the Hardcover XT and the XT Professional Line. Designed for moments when the physical difference matters: a curated wedding gallery, a professional portfolio, a newborn session, or a travel edit where every spread deserves to be lingered over.
Every Saal Digital Photo Book already includes layflat binding as standard. XT pages go a step further: the same real photo paper used across all our Photo Books, now laminated onto a sturdy 600 g/m² cardboard backing, giving every spread a more substantial, tactile feel. The result is a Photo Book that feels considered and purposeful, even when it starts from a smaller number of pages.
XT pages are the right choice when:
Saal Digital XT pages are available across two distinct product lines. Each is designed for a different level of presentation. Both share the same extra-thick pages and layflat binding as standard.
The Hardcover XT gives you extra-thick pages with layflat binding included as standard, in a wide range of cover styles, from classic glossy to leatherette, natural linen, cork, and wood-look. Perfect for photo enthusiasts, family albums, travel books, and event photography.
The XT Professional Line is designed for professional photographers, studios, and corporate photography projects, with signature cover materials including acrylic, leatherette and brushed metal options that go beyond what standard covers offer. No barcode as standard. Your work, your presentation, nothing else.
Not every story needs 80 pages. Some photo shoots are defined by 15 or 20 carefully chosen images. XT pages let you do full justice to a smaller, curated selection without the book ever feeling sparse. The extra-thick pages give every spread a substantial, premium weight that makes the book feel intentional from the first page to the last.
Hardcover XT starts from 10 pages up to 58 pages. Professional Line XT starts from 10 pages up to 46 pages. Both are designed to work beautifully at any page count within that range, whether you are presenting a tight edit of 10 pages or a fuller curated collection.
Every XT Photo Book includes layflat binding as standard. This means the album lies completely flat when open with no images disappearing into the spine, panoramic images and double-page spreads display without interruption, and the format is ideal for wide-angle landscapes, group portraits, full-bleed editorial images, and wedding photography.
Whether you have 15 images or 40, XT pages give you a complete, polished Photo Book without padding your page count. The format is built around quality per page, not volume. XT pages are available across all of our Photo Book formats, landscape, portrait, and square, in all available sizes, and both XT lines offer a no barcode option, keeping the cover clean and the presentation entirely focused on your work.
Ideal use cases:
The key difference is page construction, not paper quality. Both XT pages and standard pages use the same FUJIFILM Crystal Archive HD Album photo paper at 368 g/m², printed using silver halide technology and FSC certified. The difference is what happens after printing.
In a standard Photo Book, two pages are glued together, giving each page a thickness of 0.36 mm. In an XT Photo Book, that same photo paper is additionally laminated onto a sturdy 600 g/m² cardboard backing, bringing each page to approximately 1.08 mm for Glossy and Matte and 1.1 mm for Silk, roughly three times the thickness of a standard page. The result is a spread that feels noticeably more rigid, substantial, and premium in hand.
Both standard and XT Photo Books include Layflat binding as standard, so the book opens completely flat at 180 ° with no detail lost across double-page spreads.
Both share the same foundation: real FUJIFILM Crystal Archive HD Album photo paper pages, each laminated onto a sturdy 600 g/m² cardboard backing for a page thickness of approximately 1.08 mm for Glossy and Matte and 1.1 mm for Silk, with Layflat binding included as standard in both lines.
The difference is in presentation and cover materials. The Hardcover XT offers a wide range of cover finishes including optional padding and metallic special finishes in gold, rose gold, and silver. It includes a small, discreet barcode on the back cover and last page as standard, containing no reference to Saal Digital or to you as a customer, with the option to remove it. The XT Professional Line goes further with signature cover materials including acrylic and leatherette and brushed metal options exclusive to this line, and comes with no barcode as standard, designed for professional photographers, wedding studios, and commercial photographers delivering client work and portfolio presentations.
